2023 Home Project List

Alright, so if you’ve been following along on Instagram then you know I did not complete a single project I had listed in my 2022 list. My goal this year is to keep my list short so I feel like its manageable and to focus on the priorities.

I may add a bonus project if timing, serendipity, and budget allow!

So without further adieu, here are the projects I plan to tackle this year in no particular order:

Master Bedroom Closet

It would be almost a year next month when I had the bright idea to makeover my closet. I think seeing all of these closet makeovers on Instagram had me feeling a bit impulsive. I removed the existing wire shelving and just so happened to get an email from Brewster Home Fashions who I have collaborated with before (for my home office) who offered me gifted wallpaper, and I was off to the races!

Once I got my wallpaper installer to put up this beautiful graphic grasscloth wallpaper the next logical step was to order the actual closet system. I planned to use the IKEA Pax system and even ordered a few items to only realize that I ordered the worn pieces and needed to cancel the order. I then made the adjustments to the closet with the plan to reorder.

Then I got stuck. Because, I no longer liked the plan I sketched out the with Pax system and have had decision paralysis for the rest of the year.

Well friends, we are going to get this crossed over the list this year. What I have firmly decided is that I want a more open closet system (think more The Container Store than Ikea Pax system. For a better visual, check out my closet inspiration board on Pinterest).

Daughter Bedroom

This past Christmas my daughter had one wish on her list…to get a bedroom makeover. I of course loved this idea and began planning for my 15-year-old client. Now… our design styles don’t necessarily align as she has a Glam decor style and I am much more of a transitional design aesthetic.

Here is a mood board I created to help guide the vision of the room. We still have not agreed on a vanity or nightstand, but this initial vision is definitely taking us in the right direction!

Back Patio Oasis

This space was on my 2022 list and I am even more excited this year to complete my back patio than I was last year. I keep having visions of a small lush beautiful space to relax in with my family and friends. Even better, now that I have decided to garden this year, I’m determined to max out this space to include my new hobby. Below is the mood board I shared last year and I am keeping everything the same as we as a glimpse of what summer looks like in my backyard.

Kid’s Bathroom

The kid’s bathroom is the literal definition of a white box. The only change I made in this space was painting the vanity black with charcoal paint, which by the way, was not a good idea, lol.

But, I’m really excited to tackle this project this year because I have been able to line up a dream partnership with Fireclay Tile! I’ll have a more detailed blog post(s) about this project once it gets kicked off the ground. See below an image of the bathroom in its current state (don’t mind the dirty shower curtain, that’s my bad for getting a white one for a kid’s bathroom, lol) and what I mocked up for the space.

So that’s the list you guys! The great news is that I have already begun to purchase items for most of these projects so I won’t be starting at zero and waiting for products to ship.

Let me know in the comments what project are you most excited about?
